24.  Cal Poly -  The folks at Cal Poly have plenty of reasons to be revved up heading into the 2008 season.  A young Mustang team surprised everyone with a 11-4-4 record last year and a  6-2-4 mark in Big West play.  Coach Paul Holocher welcomes back nine starters including David Zamora (6g, 5a),  Kyle Montgomery (6g, 3a) and Julian Alvarez (7g, 0a).

25.  Tulsa - Seven starters return from the 2007 team that was 15-3-2 and that won the CUSA regular season and tourney titles.   The biggest challenge facing Tulsa mentor Tom McIntosh is replacing goalkeeper Dominic Cervi who was a four-year starter.  Key returners include forwards Jose Parada and Eric DeFreitas and defender Chris Clements.

26.  Harvard - Exit John Kerr after nine years as the head coach of the Crimson to accept the head coaching position at his alma mater Duke.  Enter Jamie Clark who previously served as an assistant coach at New Mexico and most recently at Notre Dame.  The Crimson return nine starters including forward Andre Akpan and midfielder Michael Fucito.

27.  Old Dominion - The Monarchs return seventeen letterwinners including eight starters from the 2007 team that was 14-7-3 and defeated Providence and Brown in the NCAA Tourney.  All-American defender David Horst is among the gaps Alan Dawson must fill.  Returning players include midfielder Trevor Banks and prime time keeper Evan Newton.

28.  Loyola (Md) - A young Greyhound team finished the 2007 season with an impressive 19-3-1 record and advanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA Tourney where they lost to Maryland in penalty kicks.   Returning players include forward Phil Bannistere (13g, 7a), midfielder Eddie Dines, backs Tennant McVea and Josh Taylor and goalkeeper Milos Kocic.

29.  North Carolina - The Tar Heels were rebuilding last year as reflected in their 7-8-5 overall record which kept them out of the NCAA Tourney.  With five of their top six scorers back plus a solid recruiting class this team simply has too much talent not to rebound in 2008.  Leadership is a key. Junior forward Bill Dworsky is among those who must set the pace.

30.  UC Davis - The new kids on the block in terms of being an official Division I member more than held their own in 2007 with a 12-5-3 overall record and an at-large berth in the NCAA Tourney.  Dwayne Shaffer has some holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball but he welcomes back a strong group that includes forwards Sule Anibaba and Quincy Amarikwa.
